Classroom AudioVisual Setups

 

  

Classroom Controls:

The control panel is located on the top of the podium.

Press the SYSTEM ON button to turn on the LCD projector.

The system should be set to HDMI input by default. HDMI is the preferred connection method as the image quality is better and no need for an extra connection for sound.

There is a VGA cable and separate audio cable if required.

Use the Volume dial on the far right of the panel to control the room volume. If the podium losses power or is unplugged the volume gets reset to zero. It takes a lot of turns to get all five bars to show. There is also a volume control on the laptop -- speaker in the lower right. Many applications like Youtube, VLC video player have a volume control. Note, sound does not work unless the system is turned on.

There is a separate volume control for the mic should it be installed.

Press the System OFF button to turn off the LCD projector.

The cable on the far left is the HDMI cable.

The two cables in the middle are the VGA and audio cables.

The cable on the far right is the network cable.

The upper cable is the HDMI cable, while the lower cable is the connector for using the ClickShare.

ClickShare:

The above screen should appear when you press the Laptop 2 button.

  1. plug in the ClickShare dongle pictured above into one of the Laptop's USB ports
  2. wait for the the dongle to connect to the laptop 
  3. open the ClickShare folder and click on the ClickShare_for_Windows.exe file to launch the Clcikshare app
  4. when the message says it is ready to connect to base station press the button the dongle -- the white light should turn red when the connection is complete
  5. Note, there is an app for mobile devices but due to the way the network and the ClickShare are setup mobile devices will not connect to the ClickShare base station.

 

Press either the blank screen or the power button - top right.

When the screen image appears press the Red ON button to turn on the LCD projector. ( A yellow button indicates that is the control that is active.) Note, when the room is not divided the control panel in Bell 955 will say that the panel in Bell 954 controls both LCD projectors.

The Picture Hide On / Off button will blank or project an image without needing to turn the projector on and off each time.

There are two volume controls on the far right. One will control the laptop volume, and the other a mike volume if it is added to the system.

There are two user modes available:

1) Presentation Mode - is to the two front screens

Press the Presentation Mode button to turn on the two front screens

HDMI and VGA connections are at the front between the two front screens

To turn off the projectors press the All Off button.

 

2) Collaboration Mode - individual tables present to a specific screen. See layout below.

Press the Collaboration Mode button to select which projector(s) are turned on or off. See image below

The system will automaticly select the appropriate connection input -- HDMI or VGA. HDMI is the preferred connection method as the image quality is better and no need for an extra connection for sound.

Individual projectors can be turned off (or on) through the Collaboration dialog screen. To turn off all the LCD projectors press the All Off button.

Press the ON button -- left top -- to turn on the LCD projector.

Press the HDMI or VGA button to select video input type.

Use the Volume dial to change the volume level -- left. 

The system can have a mike added. The volume control for the mike is on the right. There is a mute button if there is not audio required.

Press the green button - top right to activate system. There are two choices for using the system:

 

Single Projector Mode:

When using Single Projector Mode each of the wall connection points will only connect to the LCD projector by it. It is possible to use two laptops and project different images from each projector. Note, that only 1 audio input source can be selected.

Press the Single Projector Mode button - top right.

Press which input connection you are using -- Wall Left is by the door, Wall Right is in the middle of the front wall. 

Press which audio source you are using -- best to use the same wall source as where the laptop is plugged into. There is also a mute button -- red button below the two audio source buttons. Alternatively, you can also use the mute button below the volume control slider - far right

 

Presentation mode:

When using Presentation Mode either wall input can be used to project the same image to both LCD projectors.

Press the Presentation Mode button - top right

Press which input connection you are using -- Wall Left is by the door, Wall Right is in the middle of the front wall. 

The audio source will be at the same wall input as the laptop is plugged into. The volume control is on the far right, with the mute button below the volume control slider.

 

Turning Off The System:

Press the red power button - top right

Press the Green Yes button to confirm. If you pressed the power button by accident you have 60 seconds to cancel the power shutdown before the system automatically shuts the system down.

Press the green button - top right to activate system. There are two choices for using the system:

 

Single Projector Mode:

When using Single Projector Mode each of the wall connection points will only connect to the LCD projector by it. It is possible to use three laptops and project different images from each projector. Note, that only 1 audio input source can be selected.

Press the Single Projector Mode button - top right.

Press which input connection you are using -- Left Projector is on the South wall, Center Projector is at the front center, Right Projector is on the North wall. 

Press which audio source you are using -- best to use the same wall source as where the laptop is plugged into. There is also a mute button -- red button below the three audio source buttons. Alternatively, you can also use the mute button below the volume control slider - far right

 

Presentation Mode:

When using Presentation Mode only the center wall input can be used to project the same image to all three LCD projectors.

Press the Presentation Mode button - top right

Only the Center wall input will project to all three projectors. You will need to turn the projectors you intend to use -- Left Projector is on the South wall, Center Projector is at the front center, Right Projector is on the North wall. 

The audio source will be at the same wall input as the laptop is plugged into -- front center. The volume control is on the far right, with the mute button below the volume control slider.

The upper cable is the HDMI cable, while the lower cable is the connector for using the ClickShare.

ClickShare:

Turn on monitor -- it should be set to HDMI Input 1
-- above screen should appear
-- make sure ClickShare receiver unit -- box behind monitor is turned on and the HDMI cable it conected to the box and also to the monitor
-- if not try changing monitor inputs

plug in the ClickShare dongle pictured above into one of the Laptop's USB ports

wait for the the dongle to connect to the laptop 

open the ClickShare folder and click on the ClickShare_for_Windows.exe file to launch the Clcikshare app

when the pop says it is ready to connect to base station press the button the dongle -- white light should turn red when the connection is complete

Note, there is an app for mobile devices but due to the way the network and the ClickShare are setup mobile devices will not connect to the ClickShare base station.
