How to Send a Fax - Olds College Students

Step 1: Scan your document to yourself (see printers tab for details); You can skip this step if the file is already on your computer

Step 2: Email your document to library@oldscollege.ca

Keep in Mind: Put the below information in the email to ensure it goes to the correct location

  • To: This is the individual or organization you want the file addressed to
  • Company: The company or organization of the person you are sending to (optional)

  • Destination: This is the fax number you are sending to 

  • Subject: The subject of the fax (ex. My Documents)

You will receive a successful message and a confirmation sent to your email once the fax has successfully gone through.

How to Send a Fax - Olds College Staff

Step 1: Scan your document to yourself (see printers tab for details); You can skip this step if the file is already on your computer

Step 2: Open your document

Step 3: Click 'Print'

Step 4: Choose 'XmediusFax' as the printer

Step 5: The Xmedius fax software may automatically pop up on your screen, if not click on the green icon on the bottom bar

Step 6: The following fields should be filled out by you:

  • To: This is the individual or organization you want the file addressed to

  • Company: The company or organization of the person you are sending to (optional)

  • Destination: This is the fax number you are sending to 

    • Keep in Mind: You must precede the fax number with a 9 before the full number (ex. 403-555-2233 would be 94035552233)

  • Subject: The subject of the fax (ex. My Documents)

Step 7: Once you are done, on the top left hand side click 'Send'

You will receive a successful message and a confirmation sent to your email once the fax has successfully gone through.

Helpful Tips and Tricks

Adding an Extra File

Step 1: On the top left hand side, click on the paper clip

Step 2: Search for the file on your computer and click 'Open'

Keep in Mind: Another screen may open, ensure it has 'Full page photo' selected

Step 4: Click 'Print'

Step 5: Your file will then be added to the end of your collection

 

Removing a Page

Step 1: On the left hand side of the page, hover over the tile/document/page you want to remove

Step 2: Right click on the page

Step 3: Click 'Delete'

Step 4: A prompt will show and ask you if you're sure you want to delete the page, click 'Yes'

OR

Step 1: on the left hand side of the page, click on the tile/document/page you want to remove

Step 2: Above the various pages there is a red X, click on the red X

Step 3: A prompt will show and ask you if you're sure you want to delete the page, click 'Yes'

 

Sending on Behalf of Someone Else/Updating the Transmittal Sheet

Step 1: Once you have all your files attached and all the sending fields (see above for details), on the top tab click 'Edit'

Step 2: On the drop down list click 'Faxing Properties...'

Step 3: Update the information and click 'OK'
